Entrance Landscaping

There was also an issue about outstanding invoices for the company that was previously doing the landscaping for us. After speaking to Craig Barbeau of Barbeau Homes I sent the following to Kim Benefield and Bob Gardner:

Hello Kim,

I just had a call from Craig Barbeau letting me know that he has six outstanding invoices that have not been paid (totaling $663.99 and dating from June of this year). He was sending these to Holly and I have asked him to now send them to you. I also told Craig that we would get these taken care of as soon as possible once we receive the copies. Please let me know once you receive the invoices and we have sent a check to Craig.

Bob,

Craig also told me that he was interested in retaining the contract so I gave him your number and told him that he should contact you ASAP since we have started generating new bids for this service. Please give Craig an opportunity to bid on this work since apparently he has made several attempts to work with us but did not get a response back from some of the former officers.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist with any of this.

Thanks,

Tony

The following emails have to do with getting bids for landscaping for the entrances.

Hello Bob,

Just a quick note to let you know that I got a landscaping package in the mail this week from a company interested in bidding on the work for Sheffield Meadows.

Can you give me an update on how the bid process for this work is coming along?

I will drop the materials I got off for you next week.

Hope all is well and thanks for your help with this.

Have a nice weekend,

Tony

Hey Tony! It’s been a while since this email – sorry about that. Dave & I are meeting today and will put a game plan together with some subs & bids that we will collect over the next week to 10 days maybe. We both have some people in mind and I also want to talk to Nathan. Please send his contact info over to me if you can.

We will follow up with you & Hacketts after our meeting. Thanks

Hello Bob,

Stephanie has this spot on. The landscaping is the first priority followed by irrigation. Replacing the signs would be nice and it would be interesting to get a ballpark figure on the price but clearly we do not have the budget to do those unless we asked the neighborhood for extra funds or sought some sort of sponsorship for them.

On a related issue, I sent you an email I had from Nathan Farr (a former resident of Sheffield Meadows) who is interested in bidding for the landscaping work, helped us out while we had the mix-up with the other company and has volunteered to keep the entrances tidied up for us for the rest of the year (no charge) until we select a new vendor.

As for the lights, that now seems to be taken care of (AEP had not been paid during our transition from one Treasurer to the next).

I am copying the beautification committee on this email as well since landscaping, signs and irrigation fall under their charter as I see it.

I appreciate you offering to help and please let me know if there is anything I can do to be of assistance.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi Bob,

I am forwarding your message to Tony Trippe who is the Association's president. He may have more info. for you.

I think that fixing the sprinkler system and updating our landscaping (starting with getting bids) should be top priority. The signs look great from street level, but the landscaping is starting to die off/turn brown and needs attention right away. I think stone signs were mentioned, but I do not know how we could afford all of that.

We appreciate you volunteering your time though...I mean Diane volunteering your time! You go, Bob!

Have a good day,

Stephanie

Hey Steph, I have not done anything for landscape (as you can probably tell). I will do so over the next few days / week. I thought we talked about doing new signage as well and had some light problems. Is that true & do you want me to look into those as well?
