Ok, so what happened. Well, it seems we had a little trouble transitioning from one treasurer to the next. Holly gave the materials she had to Stu and they did not get to Kim Benefield until early last week (I have a few stories on what took place when regarding the transfer but I prefer not to point fingers). By then the yard cutting was over due and AEP started calling Holly (since hers is the only number on the account) about turning off the lights at the entrances. I spoke to Kim on Saturday and she is getting on the phone with both vendors this week. I hope to have a status report at the meeting on Friday. Kim is also trying to get the accounts transferred into her name so she can start writing checks (in the mean time Stephanie can write them for us).

So, long story short, this fell through the cracks. I am hoping that this issue will be taken care of now and will not be a problem in the future.

We can discuss options for weeding, mowing and other beautification details at the meeting on Friday.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you all for agreeing to join or continue to participate on the committee. Can you please email one another and decide which of you will chair this committee? In addition can you discuss some options for getting the weeding of the entrances done on a regular schedule?

I imagine there are a number of options that could be pursued for getting this done. Personally I was wondering if we should ask for bids from some of the local landscaping outfits to see if one of them would be interested in donating or offering us a discount for doing the work in exchange for a mention in the newsletter. Someone also suggested that we ask each street to rotate the work on a month to month basis so the work is spread out amongst the neighborhood.

Whatever you come up with can you please update the wiki with your decisions and notify me as well. I would also like to add this topic to the agenda for the association meeting this fall so could one of you please plan on being their to represent the committee.

Again, thank you for offering to help with this. It is greatly appreciated.

Originally the beautification committee consisted of Steve Brown, Corey & Marla Miller (who have moved) and myself. I never got a sense who was officially the "chair" of the beautification committee. I think some people thought that I was the lead, but I know that I didn't originally volunteer as this. I would like to remain on the commitee to assist in projects and what-not, but I don't have the capacity to lead the committee as it should.

I think Dan Russel has expressed interest in the committee.

Hello Everyone,

I am starting to survey some of the people on the various committees we have to see if people are still interested in serving and if so let them know about our Wiki so they can start posting some suggestions and ideas.

I wanted to start with the Beautification committee since there have been some calls about the entrances and I recently found out that weeding of the entrances used to be conducted on a schedule during the summer.

Can you please let me know if you are still interested in serving on this committee? This does not mean that you are volunteering to do the weeding (personally I wonder if it is worth it to try and hire someone to do that for us or, as one person suggested we alternate by street) I just need to know if you want to continue and if someone is interested in chairing the committee.
