Minutes from the September 15th, 2006 meeting

Held at Jeff and Kim Benefield’s house 6142 St. Mel Circle

 

Present: Steve and Katy Brown, Dan and Stephanie Hackett, Diane and Bob Gardner, Brad and Stephanie Stoppenhagen, Robin Flemming, Bill Costello, Yang Bai, Min Wang, Wanlei Zhu, Tim Moynihan, Mary Lynn Pitzer

Welcoming comments:

 

Tony Trippe, President, was unable to make the meeting. Steve Brown, Vice-President, started the meeting.

 

Committee Reports:

 

  • __Treasurer__
    • Kim Benefield--new treasurer.
    • Stated the electricity and lawn care service bills had not been paid in a few months during the transition of officers, but they are now current.
    • All bills and statements will now be sent to Kim’s attention at 6142 St. Mel Circle.
    • Presented details of checking account. Current balance is $7755.64. Kim Benefield and Stephanie Hackett are signers on the checking account.
    • Dues
      • 57 homes have paid dues so far.
      • Suggestion to post dues reminder with entrance signs.
      • Suggestion to post “thank you” to those names or addresses of neighbors who have paid dues in the next newsletter.
    • Follow-up/Actions
      • Kim Benefield to get names of who have paid to Dan Hackett for newsletter.
      • Kim to post entrance signs for reminder.
  • __Beautification Committee__
    • Big “Thank you” to Brad Stoppenhagen and Nathan Farr for mowing entrance grass when the lawn service did not.
    • Would like bids for mowing/mulching/weeding of entrances.
    • Suggestion for bids for new landscaping and entrance signs.
      • Still need research for irrigation system first.
    • Follow-up/Actions
      • Bob Gardner and Dave Pitzer are looking for landscaping bids.
      • Put advertisement in newsletter for bids as well.-Dan Hackett
  • __Website__

  • __Social Committee__
    • Picnic cancelled this year due to low attendance. Will try for last Saturday before school starts in August of 2007.
    • Pumpkin carving contest suggested.
    • Holiday light contest suggested.
    • Deck Hop/Block party suggested.
    • Fall party suggested.
      • During away OSU game on Oct. 14th
      • BYO everything.

    • Just want to encourage socialization of neighbors!

  • __Directory__
    • Needs updated as dues are paid.
    • $20 to have business card advertisement.
    • Suggestions to also have names and addresses listed by street.

      • Kim Benefield to get Tony Trippe information sheets that are turned in with the dues.

New Business:

 

  • Speed Limit - Muirfield
    • Presented by Steve Brown.
    • Hope to get new speed limits signs on Muirfield.
    • Enforcement issue not zoning issue.
    • Extra traffic due to many Dublin detours.
    • Dublin police will put us on rotation for speed limit machines and will add more cruiser patrols.

      • Steve Brown to contact Dublin police if any complaints.
  • Mailbox Replacemnet
    • Tim Moynihan had researched, but left info. at home. Company will give neighbors price of around $150 installed for new mailbox.
    • Follow-up/Actions
      • Dan Hackett has name and prices to put in newsletter.
  • Complaint
    • Camper parked in driveway.
      • Seems to be following Dublin code.
    • Yard upkeep
      • Would like mention in newsletter that well maintained yards will increase property value.
